Rumen leather has a fascinating hexagonal structure. It comes from a Brazilian tannery and is cow stomach leather. I have wanted to work with this leather since first saw it made up in handbags at a trade show in Paris, in 2004.

This helmet is unisex, I made it so it looks equally good on men and women. The style line above the eyebrows is slightly asymmetrical, and it can be worn both frontwards and backwards. It features a signature 'fin' towards the back of the head. The leather is hand-blocked and hand-stitched over a fur felt base (fur felt is a composite of rabbit fur and sheepswool).

The size of this aviator helmet fits a 22 1/2"-23 1/2" head. From edge of eyebrow to eyebrow, it measures a 7" clearance across. There is an adjustable grosgrain ribbon inside.
